A birthday present to myself -- ALAN LEE!!!!
MY COPY OF THE ALAN LEE ILLUSTRATED EDITION OF "THE LORD OF THE RINGS" just arrived! I now know the meaning of "elation."
It was $49 on amazon.com, as opposed to $75 at Borders. It's a beautiful, 1000+ page book, with gorgeous illustrations (he was also the conceptual artist on the movie), all three books into one volume, the way they were written. So beautiful.
It's my birthday present to myself. :)
